The 2021 Lynsolence is a standout. Bright and racy, with terrific energy, the 2021 is surprisingly good for the year. There's real depth and persistence here, along with fabulous balance. –Antonio Galloni

The 100% Merlot 2021 Lynsolence should be a winner and is unquestionably another impeccably made wine from Denis Barraud. Coming from a tiny 2.5-hectare site and resting in 85% new oak, it has a great bouquet of darker berries, cassis, graphite, and toasted spice. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ripe tannins, and terrific overall balance. It's certainly a success and well worth seeking out.

Lynsolence Winery Image
Since 1998 the cuvée Lynsolence, named by Denis Barraud's daughter Sandra who also designed the label, is the perfect example of the depth and finesse that the Estate seeks in all their wines.

The Denis Barraud estate has been family owned since it was first created at the end of the 19th Century. His grandfather, Pierre-Henri Descrambe enlarged it and he passed on to him his love for the vine. Denis has been in charge since 1971.

He's believes you can only make good wine if you have meticulously looked after the vines so that they give good grapes. Denis explains "We take great pains over our viticultural methods to obtain perfectly ripe grapes. We then vinify in such a way as to let these ripe healthy grapes express themselves and in so doing, perfectly reflect our wonderful terroir."
