          Description

Nestled in the Chilean foothills of the Andes, in the heart of the Maipo Valley, the Haras estate is a partnership between the Antinori family of Tuscany and the Matte family of Chile. The Haras estate is known for producing both award-winning thoroughbred horses, as well as wines. In the unique horseshoe-shaped winery, Haras has produces this six-bottle collection that exemplify the outstanding balance and diversity Chilean wine has achieved in recent years.

Wine Gift Collection Includes Two Bottles of Each:

          • Haras Estate Chardonnay
Chilean Chardonnay has become quite popular, differing slightly from the buttery, oaky Chardonnay of California. The Haras Esate Chardonnay is fresh and lively on the palate, with beautiful grapefruit flavors, crisp acidity, and a juicy, persistent finish.

          • Haras Estate Carmenere
With its roots in the Bordeaux region of France, Carmenere has made a distinguished name for itself in Chile. This dark and rich Carmenere is smooth, with soft tannins, and perfectly balanced on the palate.

          • Haras Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Much like Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon made its way from Bordeaux, becoming a star varietal of Chile. This Estate Cabernet shines with full and spicy aromas of dark chocolate, cedar and rosemary, with complex red and dark fruit flavors on the palate.

          • Printed insert that describes the featured wines

Due to the popularity of this gift, vintages sometimes sell out. Should this happen, we will always substitute with the current vintage.

Appreciated for superior wines made from indigenous varieties, Austria should be on the radar of anyone who loves bright, elegant wines. These food-friendly, cool-climate reds and whites are quintessentially European in style with racy acidity, moderate alcohol, and tart, fresh fruit flavors. Austrian wines are prized for their near-uniform dedication to excellence, and it is now difficult to find a bad bottle.

Rather than joining in on the worldwide trend to plant international varieties, Austria has chosen to stake its reputation mainly on its native grapes. Grüner Veltliner, known for its racy acidity and vegetal and peppery aromatics, is the most important, comprising nearly a third of Austrian wines. Riesling in Austria is high in quality but not quantity, planted on less than 5% of the country’s vineyard land. Unlike their German counterparts, Austrian Rieslings are almost always dry, with higher alcohol, slightly lower acidity, and flavors that lean more toward the citrus end of the fruit spectrum. Field blends of these two grapes along with Pinot Blanc and other white varieties known as Gemischter Satz are popular for daily consumption in Vienna. Red wines include light, tart-fruited Zweigelt, juicy and spicy Blaufränkisch, and Pinot-Noir-like Saint Laurent.
