Foris Merlot 1999

Our elegant, stylish, and softer version of Merlot. Exhibits bright complex fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, supple finish. A structured, brambly vintage. The key to wine quality in these cool years is patience before picking and diligence keeping the birds and critters from harvesting it first. Only in these cool years do we blend the Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon to add extra structure and body. We often blend some Cabernet Franc into the Merlot, however, for added aromatic, flavor, and textural complexity.
