Elouan Pinot Noir (375 ML half-bottle) 2017
The 2017 Elouan Oregon Pinot Noir is a beautiful dark scarlet in color, with aromas of dried cherries and blackberry, high fruit notes with hints of vanilla and clove spice. The flavors are structured and balanced with bright red raspberry and cherry, boysenberry jam fill the palate, complemented by subtle notes of white pepper. Full bodied this Pinot Noir is complex with a smooth lingering finish.
For Elouan, the fruit is brought together from three distinct terrains along Oregon’s premiere Western vineyards which harmonize beautifully when blended as one. The diversity of these cool climate areas combined with an elongated growing season creates wines with vibrant fruit flavors, intensity and richness with refreshing acidity.
While the Willamette Valley and Pinot Noir are a like a fairy tale match made in heaven, most of Oregon is in fact, a glorious source of Pinot noir. Claiming over half of its total area under vine, Pinot noir also thrives in Southern Oregon’s Umpqua and Rogue Valleys where sedimentary and volcanic soils dominate hillside vineyards and cool temperatures create the perfect environment for Pinot noir. Also, Oregon’s Columbia Gorge is becoming increasingly popular for Pinot noir production. What sets Oregon Pinot noir apart from the Pinot of other regions, both New and Old World, is its innate combination of grace with both power and restraint.
