Dark golden colored. The nose has an opening aroma of dried fruits (plums), oak and a delicate and a delicate spiciness. The mouth is complex and well-balanced with notes of dried fruits, wood and vanilla. It concludes with a harmonious and slightly dry finish.

Diplomático’s distillery lies at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Venezuela, where the purest of waters run to make the very best of rums. Its location was also carefully selected for its close proximity to the main sugar processing plants in the area. The distillery is unique as it houses 3 different distillation processes which, when combined in blending delivers unique rums such as Diplomático’s Reserva Exclusiva, an acclaimed rum worldwide.
Diplomático rums are aged in different types of casks, predominantly former bourbon and malt whisky barrels. A selection of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks is used to finish the Single Vintage and Ambassador rums. For both of these prestige offerings, the rums are placed back into the barrel for an optimum finish after the blending process. After the ageing process, the Distillery’s Maestro Ronero, Tito Cordero, and his team combine the matured spirit coming from the distinct distillation methods to create unique and complex rums. It is the Maestro Ronero’s responsibility to supervise all the production process, and especially to create rums that capture the best balance and roundness of flavors and aromas.
From pirate life on the open sea to Caribbean island paradises, perhaps no other spirit evokes such a romantic history as Rum. Made through fermentation and distillation of molasses or the fresh-pressed juice of sugar cane, Rums range from 20% to over 70% alcohol and come in a variety of tones from clear to dark. Highest quality Rums are generally produced in pot stills and aged in wood, while less expensive Clear or “White” Rums are produced in column stills and bottled without barrel aging. Naturally, Rums form the base of tropical cocktails like Daquiris and Mojitos.
