Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet has a reserved, stony nose with hints of nectarine and even buttered toast, though subtle enough to allow the mineralité to shine through. The palate is fresh and poised with a shard of bitter lemon on the penetrating entry. I like the energy and tension here, with impressive precision on the finish. This is a well-crafted Côte de Léchet that should drink well for 6 to 8 years.
All Daniel Dampt's wines are produced and bottled by the domaine. This means all his wines are made from grapes grown in his own vine yards, which is a crucial factor in the personality and quality of the wines. Now Vincent and Sebastien Dampt work with their parents on the domain. They have made some training periods in New Zealand and Australia. They give some new ideas to the estate.
