Wine Gift Set Includes:
- 2017 Shafer One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon
In your glass the wine introduces itself with enticing aromas of red and black fruit, baking spice, dark violets, lavender, wet stone, and cinnamon. The promise of all that delicious complexity is fulfilled with a racy Cabernet Sauvignon full of energy – juicy flavors of red plum, cherry, cassis, black tea, and cola – all beautifully packaged together with ripe, bright tannins made for right-now enjoyment as well as long term aging in your cellar.
Rated 95 Points: James Suckling - “Fresh cassis and blueberries with crushed violets and stones, too. This is fresh and complex. The palate carries a smooth, supple and tautly refined brand of tannin and a succulently fresh core of blue plums and blueberries. Drink or hold.” - 2014 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte
"Dense and beautifully ripe, this is a rounded rich wine. It focuses on the tropical yellow-fruit spectrum. That gives a full wine with wood-spice hints and just the right amount of citrus acidity to give it a lift. Drink this finely structured wine from 2023. Cellar Selection" - Wine Enthusiast. Best from 2020 through 2035.
Rated 97 Points: Wine Enthusiast - 2016 Tenuta Luce
The 2016 Tenuta Luce is the iconic wine of the estate, a harmonious meeting point between the elegance and structure of Sangiovese, the indigenous grape variety of the Montalcino area, and the roundness and fullness of Merlot. Intense dark red in colour, Luce is characterised by a complex aromatic profile, where the berries blend with fragrant spiced notes and hints of Mediterranean scrub. Full-bodied and structured, its velvety tannins support a wonderfully persistent finish.
Rated 96 Points: James Suckling - “A ripe but suggestive nose of dark cherries, dark chocolate, hot stones, cassis, brambleberry pie and bark. Yet, on the palate, this paints an altogether different picture, in which sleek tannins carry fresh layers of forest fruit long, through a compact, full-bodied palate. Powerful acidity steers it through to a restrained but chewy finish. Drink in 2024.”
Due to the popularity of this gift, wines sometimes sell out. Should this happen, we will always substitute with wines of equal or greater value.
