The 1999 Cabernet Merlot was made from fruit selected from the Cuthbertson family's old vineyard at Murrindindi. The vineyard was planted in 1979 on a North facing ridge of gravel soil over mudstone and quartz. The wine was fermented dry in small stainless steel vats before being transferred to new and one year old oak barriques for extended maturation. The bouquet is full of dark berries and spice while the palate is long, dry and full flavored. The 1999 Cabernet Merlot is a wine to savour and enjoy over the next 2-8 years.
