Black currant, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with polished tannins and a pretty texture. Vivid and creamy mouthfeel. Lovely finish. Second wine of Lynch-Bages.

Close to an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2021 Echo De Lynch-Bages is surprisingly tight and closed, with almost reductive notes of smoky black cherries, graphite, and scorched earth. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, foursquare mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are a bit aggressive, and this certainly might lack a touch of finesse, however, I do like the overall depth of fruit and its balance. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and I expect it will drink beautifully over the following decade.

The grapes are all hand picked and then carefully sorted before crushing. A very strict selection is made prior to blending and the wine is traditionally aged in oak barrels before bottling.
