Winemaker Notes

The color is light straw yellow, the perlage is lively, persistent and subtle. The bouquet is as elegant as the scents of wildflowers. It is agreeably fruity with scents of apple, pears and peaches. The flavor is sapid, full and balanced with a contained graciousness and accompanied by an intense and elegant fruitiness.

RP 90
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Bisol makes some of the best Prosecco Superiore on the market today. The 2015 Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Dry is ripe with floral and fresh fruit aromas. The mouthfeel is creamy, foamy and generous. Because secondary fermentation occurs in large pressurized tanks, it's hard to go wrong with a wine like this. It is simple, tonic, fresh and an absolute pleasure to drink.
WE 90
Wine Enthusiast
Aromas of delicately fragrant wild flower, orchard fruit and citrus waft out of the glass. The savory, vibrant palate presents green apple, white peach, lime and aromatic herb alongside fresh acidity and a softly foaming mousse.

The Bisol Estate is one of the oldest in the region of Valdobbiadene area. The winery was founded in 1858 by Eliseo Bisol, who was well known for his distillery. Quality has continued to be driving force over the generations. In the last 30 years the Bisol brothers have succedeed in achieving a balance between tradition and modern technology. Because of the very steep hillsides, this is a difficult area to cultivate.

Valdobbiadene

The steepest hills with the best soils and exposition, Valdobbiadene (also called Conegliano Valdobbiadene) is the historic area covering 15 municipalities between the two villages of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Collectively it is recognized as the Prosecco Superiore DOCG. This very small area—only 7,000 hectares—of extreme terrain is in the heart of the larger Prosecco zone.

Beyond the usual suspects, there are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are regional indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent wines on their own, while others are better suited for use as blending grapes. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics and aroma and flavor profiles, offering much to be discovered by the curious wine lover. In particular, Portugal, Italy, and Greece are known for having a multitude of unique varieties.
