Winemaker Notes
This wine, with its rich black ruby color, exudes aromas of ripe, deeply concentrated fruit, Asian spices, cocoa butter and sweet vanilla. It fills the mouths with firm, dense, luscious fruit and fine tannins. Winemaker Francoise Peschon describes the wine as: delicious, opulent, smooth and seamless, with layered flavors of cassis, plum, toffee and spice that
coat the palate, followed by an exceptionally long spicy finish. While bursting with fruit, it is impressive in its harmony, balance, and elegance. It should age gracefully for 20 years or more.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Araujo's Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard has become a benchmark. I believe the 1995 is the finest produced under the Araujo regime. It is close to perfection. The wine combines extraordinary power and richness with remarkable complexity and finesse. The saturated purple/black color is followed by aromas of sweet vanillin intermixed with riveting scents of black currants, minerals, exotic spices, coffee, and toast. There is nothing garish about this subtle yet powerful giant of a wine. A Napa Valley classic, it is full-bodied and extremely rich, yet retains its sense of balance and symmetry. This fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 30 or more years. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2030.

Wine Spectator
A delightfully rich, vibrant and complex wine that is aging very gracefully. The core flavors are well-focused and offer a mix of mature red currant, plum and floral scents, with a touch of anise and mineral on the finish. Ripe tannins let the flavors glide through the finish, where mocha adds a nice added dimension.

Since 1971, some of California's most ageworthy and intensely-flavored Cabernet Sauvignons have been made from grapes grown at the Eisele Vineyard, located on a benchland near the northern end of Napa Valley, just east of Calistoga. Protected by the Palisades Mountains to the north and cooled by westerly breezes from the Chalk Hill Gap, this 38-acre vineyard is planted on warm cobbly soils that produce a low-yielding crop of exceptionally concentrated fruit. Bart and Daphne Araujo acquired the Eisele Vineyard in 1990, and committed to producing only wines of the highest caliber and distinction. Araujo Estate produces 4 wines each vintage: Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, Altagracia, Syrah Eisele Vineyard and Sauvignon Blanc Eisele Vineyard.
