Alpe Genepy Herbetet Liqueur
Since 1948, the Alpe Distillery has been managed with passion and expertise by the Calvetti Family. This family-run business specializes in producing traditional liqueurs and grappas of the Aosta Valley. This artisan production, marked by constant research for the best quality, follows the traditions of Aosta Valley’s ancient distillers. Thus, with the same procedures and perfection, the liqueurs produced by brewing and distilling rare alpine herbs, entirely preserve the perfumes and healthy properties of the Italian Alps.
First prepared by 13th century Italian monks as herbal medicines and elixirs, Liqueurs are distilled spirits that have been combined with flavoring agents. A range of herbs, spices, nuts, fruits and flowers can be used, and a sweetener such as sugar or corn syrup is often added. While typically rather sweet, some examples are herbaceous or tart and pair exceptionally well with desserts or act as a delightful addition to cocktails.
