Alleme Getariako Txakolina 2019
A very fruity, crisp and clean white from Spain's Basque Country with a slight spritz (due to fermentation), citrus and exotic fruits, mineral and floral notes. Good balance and bright acidity. In the mouth, it is round and unctuous, with a good balance of structure and acidity. To obtain such a Txakoli, we have combined the most traditional and innovative production methods. Thanks to the batonnage (stirring of the lees), we have reached the typical unctuosity of this Txakoli.
Bixente Eizagirre Aginaga represents the fourth dynasty generation, and his daughters, Itziar and Onditz, the fifth generation making Txakoli out of their vineyards fruits. The Txakoli elaboration relays on the most advanced techniques focused on quality, using boxes for vintage, selection tables, controlled fermentations. These techniques make possible the production of a young and fruity wine.
On the southern edge of the rocky Bay of Biscay in northern Spain, this is Basque country and home to the refreshing and slightly effervescent (usually) white wine, Txakoli. Three subregions compose the larger one: Getariako Txakolina, Bizkaiko Txakolina and Arabako Txakolina. While Hondarribi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza are the main grape varieties, other French varieties are scattered throughout the region.
There are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles.
