The Wine The dense color indicates a wine of considerable concentration. Generous aromas of ripe blackberries are highlighted by smoked nuts, while modest tannins and lush long-lasting flavors fill the mouth. The Grapes This wine was carefully blended from five vineyard lots encompassing the Yakima Valley, Wahluke Slope and Red Mountain areas. 15% Merlot was used to soften the robust quality of this Cabernet Sauvignon. The Appellation The Columbia Valley appellation recognizes an area of the Columbia Basin stretching from The Dalles, Oregon, north through Washington to Lake Roosevelt and east to the Idaho border. The area is characterized by low rainfall, long daylight hours during the growing season, and sandy loam soil.
