Winemaker Notes

Dark garnet aromas of black raspberries, dried blueberries with mocha spice taste: Full-bodied with dark fruit, chewy yet layered tannins that linger into a long creamy finish.

Pairs well with short ribs, venison Osso Buco or gorgonzola gnocchi.

Blend: 80% Petit Verdot, 20% Petite Sirah

COMMENTARY: I have yet to reconcile blending Bordeaux and Rhône grape varieties—this wine is a blend of 80% Petit Verdot and 20% Petite Sirah. But in the end, it comes down to: Does this wine taste good? The 2014 Vina Robles Signature Red is elegant and delicious. TASTING NOTES: The wine's red fruit and nicely textured palate should make it a delectable pairing with roast chicken. (Tasted: June 6, 2018, San Francisco, CA)
