Valle Secreto Private Cabernet Franc 2013

Located 50 miles south of Chile’s coastal capital of Santiago, the Cachapoal Valley is known primarily for red grapes. The valley is well sheltered from the cooling influences of the Pacific Ocean and enjoys a temperate Mediterranean climate. Boutique producer Valle Secreto and the majority of Cachapoal’s noteworthy wineries and vineyards are located towards the east of the region, where the slopes of the Andes begin to rise away from the valley floor. This newly designated Alto Cachapoal zone lends itself to Syrah in the elegant pepper spectrum and bold, fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon. Tucked away on a flat parcel of land 700 feet above sea level, up against the foothills of the towering Andes, Valle Secreto truly lives up to its name as the "Secret Valley". Their innovative approach complements wine culture with tourism and blends modern installations with the romanticism of its original buildings, which include a romantic 19th century church.
