A delicious purity of fruit flavors gives an almost-sweet quality to this velvety, concentrated and polished wine. Ultra ripe blueberries and raspberries ride fine-grained tannins and a full body.

Aged in (25% new) French oak, this iconic Napa Cab comes across as fresh in its youth, overdelivering on quality for the price. Spiced cherry and black peppercorn make an impact on entry; then concentrated notes of devil's food cake, cedar, heather, and an array of purple and blue berries take hold. A sense of elegance carries through to the finish.

COMMENTARY: The 2020 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon is bright and attractive on the palate. TASTING NOTES: This wine is packed with aromas and flavors of blueberries and Bing cherries. Pair it with a rosemary and garlic-infused roast leg of lamb. (Tasted: June 15, 2023, San Francisco, CA)

James Suckling
Some dried-herb character to the baked blackberries and graphite on the nose. Rich, smooth and flavorful on the palate, swathed by dark cherries, cassis and firm yet juicy and polished tannins. Drink or hold.

Jeb Dunnuck
Lots of plums, darker fruits, chocolate, and incense notes emerge from the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a dense, sweetly fruited, pleasure-bent 2020 that’s already drinking nicely. It should keep for 8-10 years and should certainly put a smile on your face.

Wine
One of the most prestigious wines of the world capable of great power and grace, Napa Valley Cabernet is a leading force in the world of fine, famous, collectible red wine. Today the Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without the other. But it wasn’t until the 1970s that this marriage came to light; sudden international recognition rained upon Napa with the victory of the Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1976 Judgement of Paris.
Cabernet Sauvignon undoubtedly dominates Napa Valley today, covering half of the land under vine, commanding the highest prices per ton and earning the most critical acclaim. Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure, acidity, capacity to thrive in multiple environs and ability to express nuances of vintage make it perfect for Napa Valley where incredible soil and geographical diversity are found and the climate is perfect for grape growing. Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that express specific characteristics based on situation, slope and soil—as a perfect example, Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
