The Trinity Oaks winemaking team pays close attention to developing California's top vineyards with a focus on coastal climates proven to produce superior, expressive fruit. Each year, the finest fruit is selected from these growing regions to carefully craft the winery’s portfolio wines. The final achievement is a fruit-forward, food-friendly style consumers have come to expect and appreciate.
Trinity Oaks maintains an eco-friendly “One Bottle, One Tree” campaign in which it vows to plant one tree for every bottle that it sells. At last count, the number of trees planted to date totaled well over 17 million.
Trinity Oaks is part of Trinchero Family Estates and a consistent award winner in both national and international wine-tasting competitions. Its Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir varietals have all won multiple awards.
California’s most praised white wine, Chardonnay is also the state’s most planted white grape variety. Diverse terrain and microclimates allow for an incredible range of wine styles.
Chardonnay planted in the cooler, coastal zones takes on bright characteristics like lemon zest, key lime, green apple and wet flint. For this style, look to the chilly Sonoma Coast, Carneros, Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Lucia Highlands and Edna Valley.
The inland zones of California’s coast, such as the Russian River, Sonoma, Napa and Livermore Valleys maintain a more Goldilocks-esque climate where both styles go. Early picking retains acidity and creates a leaner style but leaving the grapes to hang creates an approachable Chardonnay, balancing richness and finesse.
Chardonnay also plays a major part in the sparkling wine production of the Anderson Valley and Carneros.
