The families' relationship began more than 30 years ago, when the Terlato family began importing Franceschi's historic Brunello di Montalcino from Italy - one of Italy's most coveted and collected wines, made from 100% Sangiovese, the quintessential Tuscan grape. Long considered one of the top producers of Napa Valley Merlot, Terlato has now joined with the iconic Franceschi family to produce a classic, elegant Super Tuscan - a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese grown in Montalcino, combining state-of-the-art winemaking technology with Old World terroir and tradition.
