Winemaker Notes
The 2006 Pinot Grigio is a star-bright, light straw color, and its nose has wonderful aromas of pear, peach and apricot. This is a delicious, full-bodied wine with a forward surge of lemon zest and pine nut flavors. On the palate, there are notes of citrus, fig, pear, pineapple and a faint hint of oak. Notes of honeysuckle and orange marmalade close out the finish. This wine is delightful to drink now, and will continue to be at its peak through the end of 2008.
"Slightly yeasty aromas of yellow plum, pear and tropical fruits. Fresh and fruit-driven, with lively acidity giving the middle palate a firmness. I find the saline minerality and subtle florality here to be quite intriguing. Finishes firm-edged, almost tannic, but without bitterness. Drash recommends pairing this wine with scallops or calamari."
