Winemaker Notes
Opening up with aromas of sweet cherry and just ripe strawberry, this wine evolves into aromatic layers of cherry compote, orange blossom, lavender, and notes of cocoa nibs, cinnamon spice, & forest floor. On the palate, there is bright red fruit of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry that intermingle with hints of violets, orange oil, and spiced plums. This wine is silky and has the essence of cinnamon and vanilla oak notes giving the wine a firm, yet lush finish.

Succulent and bright, this interweaves crunchy red fruit into a cohesive whole of balanced freshness and high-acid tenacity, the tannins supportive in providing weight and grip.

Wine
Since 2009, LaRue Wines has focused on making high quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, exclusively from vineyards on the Sonoma Coast. The wines are elegant, restrained, and forever inspired by the resilience and strength of one Veona LaRue.
The Sonoma Coast AVA is large in area but, not counting overlapping regions like Russian River Valley, only has a few thousand acres of grapevines—and it’s no wonder. Much of the region is rugged and not easily accessible. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean’s fog and cool breezes limits the varieties that can be cultivated, but it proves to be an ideal environment for high quality Pinot Noir.
Since fog is a frequent fact of life here, as are heavy marine layers that sometimes bring rain, the best vineyards are wisely planted above the fog line, on picturesque ridges that capture enough sun to provide even ripening. That, with the overnight drop in temperature that reliably preserves acidity, results in fine expressions of Pinot Noir that often receive tremendous critic and consumer praise alike, and are often in high demand.
