COMMENTARY: Petite Sirah is one California most kept secrets. While some experts consider it a lesser grape variety, Petite Sirah as enjoyed decades as one of the "underground" favorites. The 2014 J. Lohr Tower Road is a standout. TASTING NOTES: This wine shows a full-throttled style, and yet it remains quite well-balanced. Pair its ripe berries and smooth oak with a juicy ribeye. (Tasted: April 24, 2018, San Francisco, CA)
