The IL Bastardo winery is located in the Rufina area of Tuscany just 20 KM's outside of Florence in the Sieve River Valley and considered the best area for Sangiovese grapes after the "Classico" Region. Consulting winemaker, Paolo Masi macerates the skin in stainless steel for 10 days creating a brightly colored fruit forward wine.Renzo Masi is family run company that has been making wine for three generations. The leading philosophy which has distinguished their work form the beginning until now has been the same: producing wines with an excellent quality/price relationship.
To obtain this year after year they have searched for and selected the producers who can guarantee a constant high-standard quality level, and they have created a long term relationship of cooperation, including consultation on how to manage the vineyard, with the aim of reaching the highest quality.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
