Deep ruby red. Aromas of ripe dark fruits balanced by well integrated oak and spice. Rich, complex dark fruits with a long satisfying finish on the palate.

Aromatic nose shows a ripe-plum character with chocolate undertones. Some asphalt and cacao notes, too. Medium to full body, round tannins and a fruity finish. Some cooked fruit. Pure tempranillo. Drink now.

Decant this wine and it keeps giving more layers of flavor, yielding sweet red fruit out of its iron-bound mineral tannins, scents of dried herbs and game. The texture becomes smooth and rich, still focused on oak tannins, ready to enjoy with grilled baby lamb. Glorioso is made by Bodegas Palacio.Bronco Wine Company, Ceres, CA

Glorioso Winery Image
This is a historic winery that was founded in 1894. The winery lies in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, the most prestigious sub-region of Rioja. At Glorioso, wine is made with the utmost care and from select grapes, which produces an elegant wine that over-delivers at its price point. Glorioso has been an international brand since 1928.

Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.

Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
