Domaine Cailbourdin Pouilly-Fume Les Cris 2002

Picked on a limestone, south-west-facing hillside, this racy vintage is the most typical of the range. The "Cris" is the local term to describe "pebbly limestone sown with vines". The aromatic range, full of elegance, first releases some fruity (pineapple, citrus, peach) then mineral tones. After 1 or 2 years, these tastes become more refined, taking on more and more the imprint of the local earth.

The impression in the mouth is powerful, woody, and outstandingly mellow. There is excellent balance, thanks to a perfect maturity of the grapes.
