Winemaker Notes
Chianti Classico is the result of the Cecchi family’s continuous research in the appreciation of Sangiovese originating from top growing areas in the appellation. After fermenting in steel tanks, the wine is aged for about a year in wooden casks. The scent expression is focused on the depth of the fruit for voluminous and ample palate; however, it is always supported by well-extracted acidic and tannic freshness.
Professional Ratings
-
James Suckling
An extremely linear and bright red with blueberries, limestone and chalk. Medium body, firm tannins and a crisp finish.

Wine Spectator
A mix of iron, cherry, almond, leather and sanguine flavors makes this a textbook Sangiovese. Tough dense, this is balanced and lingers on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2027.

In the 1970s, Cecchi moved to the borough of Castellina in Chianti, an area which has traditionally produced Chianti Classico. In its cellar, equipped with the latest technology, the final part of the production cycle is carried out. The fermentation operations are carried out at the four commercial vineyards distributed in famous DOC zones in Tuscany and Umbria: Villa Cerna in the Chianti Classico region, Castello di Montauto at San Gimignano, Val delle Rose near Grosseto, and Tenuta Alzatura at Montefalco, in Umbria. Since 2004, following the death of Luigi, his sons Cesare and Andrea, along with their mother Anita, have run the company with enthusiasm and passion.
