The Proprietary Red captures a true expression of California’s finest appellations. A blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from acclaimed AVA’s including Rutherford and Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. This wine shows lively and enticing aromatics of blackberry, pomegranate, and violet. On the palate, structured flavors of black and red cherry, raspberry, and cassis intermingle with focused tannins and smooth acidity.

COMMENTARY: One of the questions that I often get is, "What is good Napa Valley Cabernet that doesn't cost too much?" With so many of these wines flirting with $100 price point, one cannot be surprised with this question. Apriori Cellar seems to have found the perfect answer. TASTING NOTES: The 2015 Apriori Proprietary Red—a blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from two Napa Valley AVAs—offers excellent black fruit flavors and a firm palate. The wine's sweet tannins should do nicely with a grilled ribeye. (Tasted: March 19, 2018, San Francisco, CA)

Apriori is the fruit of a collaboration between Patrice Breton & Georges Sabongui, two very passionate, focused and driven vintners who have been friends since high school. Both Patrice & Georges enjoyed successful careers in the technology industry before dedicating their attention to the craft of wine. They also co-founded and operate Champlain Partners LLC, a Private Equity firm specialized in the wine industry. Patrice directs all production operations of Apriori. He also owns and operates Vice Versa Wines, a high-end boutique winery based in Saint Helena, Napa Valley. Georges manages Apriori sales, marketing and administration.
Apriori Cellar was founded on the principle that quality, authenticity and joy should be part of every wine experience. Their winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in balance and terroir, which is why they strive to showcase the pure qualities of their grapes and distinctive personalities of their climates.
