    The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Aurum is made up of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Deep purple-black in color, it reveals an achingly beautiful nose of candied violets, lilacs and rose hip tea over a core of blackcurrant cordial, Black Forest cake and fresh wild blueberries plus touches of forest floor, tapenade, licorice and chocolate box. The palate is full-bodied and decadently fruited yet possesses bags of finesse, with a wonderfully plush, fine-grained texture and great vibrancy, finishing with epic length and depth.

    The 2016 Aurum Proprietary Red Wine is the most expensive in the lineup and checks in as 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc aged two years in new barrels. It offers a rocking bouquet of blackcurrants, ripe black cherries, graphite, charcoal, and spice. It's deep, rich, full-bodied, and tight on the palate, with plenty of mid-palate and fruit intensity. I love its balance as well. It's going to come together beautifully with 3-5 years of bottle age and cruise for two decades in cold cellars.

Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards are located just east of St. Helena in the Napa Valley where Conn Creek flows out of Howell Mountain. Twenty-six acres of vineyards, divided into nine blocks, along with a fifteen acre-foot reservoir are the heart of this 40-acre grape-growing paradise.

Separated from the Napa Valley floor by a north/south running ridge, the world-renowned wineries of Joseph Heitz and Joseph Phelps are located on the west side of this ridge and the Anderson's Estate Vineyards are on the east side at a perfect elevation of 400 feet.

The vineyards not only enjoy Napa Valley's superb microclimate, but share the same Bale Loam Series as are found on the famous Rutherford Bench. This combination of clay-loam soil and microclimate produces up to 106 tons of exceptional fruit each year. One from which a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blend, called Éloge, can be artfully handcrafted.
