With the authentic taste of Tradition, Agracolas Aguaza develops its wine production with passion and pride to create wines with universal vocation. Beyond the character that the land itself swards their produce, the wine is the product of men and women that instill their personality.

The secret lies in the origin, in its lands of extreme climate (at a height of 800 metres), in its aromatic, expressive, deep, luscious grapes. Jose Angel Gomez is the author of these 'new world' wines with their marked varietal character.

Full of ripe fruit, and robust, earthy goodness, Mourvèdre is actually of Spanish provenance, where it still goes by the name Monastrell or Mataro. It is better associated however, with the Red Blends of the Rhône, namely Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Mourvèdre shines on its own in Bandol and is popular both as a single varietal wine in blends in the New World regions of Australia, California and Washington. Somm Secret—While Mourvèdre has been in California for many years, it didn’t gain momentum until the 1980s when a group of California winemakers inspired by the wines of the Rhône Valley finally began to renew a focus on it.

The Moors gave it the name, ‘Manxa,’ which fittingly means ‘parched earth.’ La Mancha, the largest Spanish wine producing region in all of Spain, is one of its hottest and driest. Sturdy and drought-resistant white varieietes like Airen, Viura and Verdejo thrive in this environment.
