Las Moradas de San Martín winery began in 1999 on the Madrid side of the Gredos range of hills, recovering the ancient Garnacha vineyards that have been cultivated since the 12th century in the municipality of San Martín de Valdeiglesias and a native Madrid grape, Albillo Real. Pago de los Castillejos is where the Madrid region meets the northern part of Toledo and the southern part of Ávila on the edge of the Gredos range. Its climate and special soils make it possible to make wines with plenty of personality and quality. A commitment to the future of people and this land.
Their wines are produced in the traditional way, maintaining respect for grapes at all stages. They work with low yield per hectare, seeking a balance between the vines and maximum respect for their Garnacha and Albillo grapes through pruning. 100% of the grape harvest is manual, without breaking the grapes or oxidising the must, without damaging the Garnacha vines and with a greater degree of selection. This ensures the wines are of the highest quality: sober, elegant and capable of capturing the soul of Garnacha in this land.
