Somm Note

Winemaker Notes

Golden with greenish glints, the wine expresses white fruit, floral and citrus aromas. On the palate, there is a perfect balance between richness and acidity with intense, ripe fruit and an outstanding fullness for a voluminous finish.

Pairs well with bouillabaisse, shellfish such as scallop dishes or gratinéed oysters, or white fish.

Blend: 55% Grenache, 20% Clairette, 10% Bourboulenc, 10% Roussanne, 5% Picpoul

Professional Ratings

Mont Redon has long made one of the best white Chateauneuf du Papes and the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc (a blend of Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Clairette, Roussanne and Picpoul) is a beauty. Crisp, fresh notes of white peaches, apricots, honeysuckle and quince are present in this lush, pure, minerally, full-bodied, dry white. While I generally recommend drinking white Chateauneufs early in life, this effort should last 3-4 years at the minimum.

Chateau Mont- Redon Winery Video

Established in 1344, Chateau Mt. Redon is one of the oldest wine-producing estates in France and the largest single property in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The vineyards are planted in the 13 grape varieties of the region and are covered with large, smooth stones which reflect the sun warmth by day and residual heat by night into the maturing grapes.
