Winemaker's Notes:

This wine has a very delicate straw color. Aromas of fresh flowers, kiwi and jasmine with citrus notes of lime and grapefruit are followed by flavors of roses, nectarine and orange zest. On the palate, there is a floral entry that is delicate, soft and coating leading to an elegant, persistent finish.

Complex and graceful, this is a wonderful match for delicate fish and shellfish, Nicoise salad, polenta and Asian fusion cuisine.

Ruby red in color with raspberry and earthy aromas on the nose. In the mouth this Marsannay is fleshy and structured and the tannins are mellow but still present. This lasts nicely on the finish.

Additional wines from Louis Latour:

About Louis Latour:

Maison Louis Latour is one of the most highly-respected négociant-éléveurs in Burgundy. Maison Louis Latour is the producer of some of the finest Burgundian wines but has also pioneered the production of fine wines from outside of the confines of Burgundy. These wines from the Ardèche and the Côteaux de Verdon are slowly gaining esteem for their unmatchable quality outside of Burgundy.

All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latour family are vinified and aged in the attractive cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. A unique railway system with elevators allows the entire wine-making process to be achieved by the use of gravity. This eliminates the threat of oxidation from unnecessary pumping of the must. Since 1985, Louis Latour has been selling the wines of its own vineyards under the name Domaine Louis Latour.

Louis Latour has been a leader in the environmentally responsible winemaking for over 15 years. Louis Latour has had ISO 14001 accreditation for Environmental Management Systems since 2003 and has been a member of the European association FARRE since 1998- a group of like-minded companies who seek to develop and promote sustainable methods of agriculture.

Winemaker's Notes:

Due to the dry season and lower temperatures for the 2010 vintage, grapes ripened in optimal conditions to produce complex, well balanced wines with intense aromas, bright freshness, elegance and fruit intensity. This wine is a deep crimson color, aromas of ripe red fruits, spices, and fresh berries. Dark cherry, plum, and currant are wrapped in smoky spice and a hint of dark chocolate.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Primus:

About Primus:

Primus wines are produced by the Veramonte winery. Veramonte represents a return to Agustin Huneeus' Chilean roots. When he spearheaded development of the Veramonte Estate in 1990, there were less than 100 acres of grapevines planted in the Casablanca Valley.

The coastal mountain ranges surrounding the Casablanca estate create a unique terroir with a diversity of microclimates. The valley floor's cool climate is reminiscent of Carneros and ideal for growing premium Chardonnay. The foothills are warmer, akin to the more Northern reaches of the Napa Valley. Here, the climate is more suited to varieties like Carmenëre, the lost Bordeaux grape that has become Chile's citizen and the basis of Primus, our racy, exotic Chilean blend.

Using the latest viticultural technology developed in California, rootstock has been matched to each vineyard block and clone. Vertical trellising and dense vine spacing balance growth and fruit production. Veramonte's Casablanca vineyard produces significantly lower yields than other grape growing regions in Chile, resulting in grapes with more intensity and concentration.

Recognizing that the region also had potential as a tourist destination for its proximity to Santiago, Huneeus began to plant the estate and in 1995, constructed the first Napa Valley style hospitality center in Chile. The first wines were released in 1996.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Jansz Premium NV Rosé is based upon Jansz wines of several vintages. Specially selected and crafted individual batches from cool climate locations in Tasmania, form this wine. Every site used to source grapes is specifically designated to growing fruit for sparkling wine. All batches are kept separate during winemaking to maximise blending options and the complexity of the final wines. The wine then goes through secondary fermentation in bottles and is aged on yeast lees for as long as possible with the average age of the final blend being 18 months to two years.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Jansz:

About Jansz:

Jansz vineyards lie in the Tamar Valley along the Northern Tasmanian route at the heart of Tasmania's Pipers River region, an area known worldwide as "Sparkling Tasmania." With a mantle of red basalt soils and a cool climate moderated by its close proximity to the ocean, it is ideal for the slow ripening of fruit and lingering acidity so essential to the production of premium sparkling wine. In fact, the area's climate so resembled Champagne and Burgundy that several leading French Champagne houses considered basing new operations there.

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2009 Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc shows a rich, lifted nose, very spicy, with aromas of ginger, tangerine, asian pear, beeswax and herbs. The mouth shows classic Roussanne flavors of honey and spice, with a little tropicality lurking behind, and a long, dry finish with toffee and pear notes. We suggest that this wine will benefit from short-term cellaring, and drink well from mid-2011 through the end of the decade.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Tablas Creek Vineyard:

About Tablas Creek Vineyard:

The Perrins of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas, their importer since 1970, founded Tablas Creek Vineyard in 1990. They chose their 1600-foot elevation site in West Paso Robles' Las Tablas because of its chalky clay soils and its climate similar to the southern Rhone Valley. They imported selected French cuttings of Mourvedre, Grenache, Syrah and Counoise and multiplied, grafted and planted their own vines, which they farm organically. This blended wine, in the image of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, is 100% estate-grown and bottled.

Delicious with sushi, sashimi and tuna Carpaccio.

My Notes:

Additional wines from Brocard:

About Brocard:

Some twenty years ago, Jean-Marc Brocard chose to establish his estate in Préhy, a small village near the town of Chablis.... At that time, one of his in-laws, Louis Petit, taught him about the vine and at the same time instilled a deep sense of tradition and respect for nature. Boosted by this knowledge and determined to dedicate himself to a vineyard, Jean-Marc Brocard planted a hectare of vines within the appellation of Chablis.

As a perfectionist, Jean-Marc Brocard naturally erected his purpose-built cellars in the centre of his vineyard to give the grapes his constant attention. Such dedication together with the best quality Chablis soil produce an exceptional wine with a typical mineral style. It is elegant and full of character. Jean-Marc Brocard’s boundless dedication to wine has borne fruit: the Brocard estate now comprises 80 hectares of vines, 65 of which are adjacent to the cellars.

My Notes:

Additional wines from E. Guigal:

About E. Guigal:

The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, home of the wines of the Côte-Rôtie. In these vineyards that are over 2400 years old, you can still see the small terraced walls characteristic of the Roman period. Etienne Guigal arrived in this region in 1923 at the age of 14. He made wine for over 67 vintages and, at the beginning of his career, participated in the development of the Vidal-Fleury establishment.

Despite his young age, Marcel Guigal took over from his father in 1961 when the latter was victim to a brutal illness rendering him blind. Marcel's hard work and perseverance enabled the Guigals to buy out Vidal-Fleury in 1984, although the establishment retains its own identity and commercial autonomy. In 2000, the Guigals purchased the Jean-Louis Grippat estate in Saint-Joseph and Hermitage, as well as the Domaine de Vallouit in Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.

In the cellars of the Guigal estate in Ampuis, the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley are produced and aged. These are the appellations of Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The great appellations of the Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône, are also aged in the Ampuis cellars.

Fizz 56 Sparkling Red is a very pretty bright ruby red. A showstopper that is not only alluring, but also irresistibly delicious. It is highly aromatic with the hint of candied rose petals and soft berry notes. Tantalizing flavors of raspberry, strawberry and cherry dance on the tip of your tongue.
My Notes:

About Fizz 56:

Fizz 56 comes from a small winery nestled in the heart of Piedmonte, known for their outstanding Brachetto. Brachetto is a grape native to Italy and rare in other wine-growing regions around the world. The Brachetto grape is a light-bodied red grape, highly aromatic and naturally effervescent. Consequently, Fizz 56 Brachetto Spumante is a sparkling, red, sweeter, Italian wine made of 100% Brachetto that we are very proud to bring to the United States.

More than just a wine, Fizz 56 is a personality. Fizz 56 is as sweet as a first kiss and as seductive as the memory of it. A brand designed with Millennials in mind, Fizz 56 begs to be talked about and tasted. A showstopper that is not only alluring, but also irresistibly delicious.

Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz is packed with fresh, juicy flavors of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with dark chocolate undertones. My Notes:

Additional wines from Jam Jar:

About Jam Jar:

Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz was born out of the realization that there are not a lot of options available to consumers seeking quality sweet red wine. This fresh, fruity, semi-sweet Shiraz aims to fill that void. Most of the grapes are grown in Paarl, a region with Rhône-like climate that is ideal for Shiraz cultivation, and production is overseen by critically acclaimed winemaker Bruwer Raats. The brand’s packaging has a nostalgic, “retro” feel inspired by classic red and white checkered jam jar lids. Jam Jar is sweet perfection…Simple, pure, and honest.”

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes of black fruits, blackcurrants, blackberries and blueberries. With aeration, the wine becomes distinctly more complex, with notes of delicate spices, cinnamon, light tobacco and coffee, followed by fresher notes of mint, and violets. The palate is smooth and rich, with a meaty, fruity structure. You will discover the same aromas that were present on the nose, as well as a certain thirst-quenching acidity provided by the tannins. A superb wine that merits a further few months of keeping before becoming fully integrated and wonderfully harmonious.

48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc

My Notes:

About Chateau Plegat la Graviere:

Château du Grand Bos is located in Castres, in a part of the Graves appellation where one finds some of the oldest Bordeaux vineyards dating from 2,000 years ago. The vineyard lies near the old Roman road named "Chemin Gallien". The Château is listed as a leading estate in its commune in editions of Cocks & Feret going back to 1868.

The vineyard, whose soil is composed of very deep gravel, ceased being cultivated in the 1950’s and when M. Vincent bought the property in 1988 it was in poor condition.

He immediately set out to replant and restore the vineyard as well as the Château. For now, M. Vincent is able to achieve an average vine age of 35 years by utilising a portion of his neighbor’s vineyard.
