Winemaker's Notes:

Starts with concentrated ripe dark fruit framed by powerful tannins. The nose shows creamy cassis, vanilla and blueberry character as well as stone, earth and herb undertones. The tannins gain momentum on the midpalate and are supple and solid and grip the finish. Needs four years to uncoil and then will remain in prime form for another decade after that.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Running with Bulls Tempranillo is sourced from multiple growers in the western ranges of the Barossa, through to the valley floor and into the Penrice region of the Barossa. This provides a great range of aroma and flavour profiles to make this an interesting and varietal Barossa Tempranillo. Showing dark cherry, tar and potpourri with hints of mocha choc oak. The plush palate has succulent tannins that add structure and length to the wine.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Running With Bulls:

About Running With Bulls:

Running With Bulls Tempranillo and Vermentino are leading the rush of Mediterranean varietals that can make exciting wine in South Australia's soil and climate. Know to thrive in a range of conditions around the world, Tempranillo has an affinity with the Barossa region, where an ideal climate helps to showcase the stylish fruit flavours of this emerging variety.

The grapes are grown with an emphasis on vineyard sustainability, and in the warm and dry conditions little intervention is needed. This results in a healthy and diverse population of natural microflora that piggybacks on the grapes into the winery and begins the natural fermentation. The results are the Australian interpretation of the native styles of Spain and Italy, expressing individual regional characters.

Winemaker's Notes:

Delivers a nice whiff of white pepper and clove as well as some sweet earth underpinnings meshed with a note of ripe dark raspberry and blackberry fruit. The palate has an engaging, expansive feel, medium-fuller bodied, with smooth tannins wrapped around spicy dark cherry and black raspberry flavors. This should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years to maximize its fruit vibrancy.
My Notes:

About Winter Creek:

After considerable experience in the wine industry, David and Pam Cross established the Winter Creek vineyard at Williamstown in the Barossa Valley. The original Winter Creek vineyard was planted exclusively with Shiraz vines and some years ago David and Pam were fortunate in purchasing an old Grenache vineyard adjoining their property. Their philosophy is always to produce the highest quality wine possible and have the unique terroir of the Williamstown region reflected in their wines. Williamstown is located in the most southerly point of the Barossa Valley. In the wettest and coolest part of the valley with the climate being affected by the near proximity of the Barossa Ranges, the cooler Williamstown climate naturally produces wine displaying traditional Barossa richness along with elegance and finesse. The emphasis is very much on intense fruit flavors, complexity and balance.

Deep violet-ruby-red. Elegant, sophisticated, and complex aromas, with fruity notes that blend cherries, prunes, tobacco, and roasted coffee. Well-rounded and very well structured, with ripe tannins and plenty of texture. Long finish.

Drink with coal-roasted red meats, well-seasoned dishes, stews, casseroles and ripe cheeses.

Winemaker's Notes:

Made with full extraction and long skin contact, this wine is made to maximize body and weight while having long silky tannins. The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe dark cherry and blackberry notes with mocha, clove and a hint of vanilla. This wine offers lush, juicy cherry and blueberry flavors. On the palate, sweet vanilla, clove, and a hint of cinnamon are brought forth by the nuances of French oak aging. Seamless with a nice long finish, this wine is very elegant with a fine structure.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Atlas Peak Winery:

About Atlas Peak Winery:

Atlas Peak was established in 1987. Over time it became clear that Atlas Peak's most valuable hidden resource was literally underfoot: the elevation of its vineyards. The grapes growing at high elevation, and above the natural fog line, experience much lower daytime temperatures than those on the valley floor, allowing the grapes to stay cool while gaining maximum sun exposure. As a result, growers up on the mountain can afford to harvest later and pick for flavor with less worry about over ripening and excessive alcohol. No grape develops as well in mountain conditions as Cabernet Sauvignon.

Atlas Peak crafts Napa Valley mountain appellation Cabernet Sauvignon from such prestigious areas as Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain District and Mount Veeder, in addition to Atlas Peak. Atlas Peak’s Cabernet Sauvignon wines are driven by an appreciation of mountain-grown fruit and winemaking techniques that capture the distinct flavors derived from the mountain appellations in which they are grown.

This wine is brimming with lively black currant, raspberry and blueberry enveloped in a spicy bouquet of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, nutmeg and faint hints of smoked meat. The flavor is true to the aromas and the texture is silky and supple. This wonderful blend of fruit, spice and silk dances and lingers in your mouth. The acid balance and slight dryness of the tannin on the finish indicate that this wine has the structure to age gracefully for several years.

About Elements by Artesa:

Sourced from Columbia Valley vineyards in eastern Washington including our Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge Estate and Indian Wells vineyards.

Our goal with the Columbia Valley Cabernet is to highlight concentrated Washington red fruit in an accessible style. This is our inviting Cab with plenty of complexity and structure with silky tannins. It's also very versatile with food-try it with beef, pork or pasta.

This is an Old Vine Zinfandel at its essence. The sophisticated Toreador captures the true varietal character of Monte Rosso Zinfandel with expressive flavors and intense aromas of black raspberry, plum jam and dark black cherry, surrounded by rich tannins and a peppery, clove spice that are supple on the palate. Hints of dark chocolate and nuances of vanilla from the oak influence linger in a long and lasting finish. This elegantly concentrated Zinfandel can be enjoyed now, but will also age well over the next ten years.
