Winemaker's Notes:

A core intesity of red fruit flavors and lifted violet aromas remain the signature of Malbec from our Remolinos Vineyard. This is exquisitely balanced by freshness of acidity and an elegant integration of French oak which adds complexity to the rich mid palate of this vintage.

About Finca Decero:

Decero, meaning 'from scratch,' was born of a bare patch of land and a family's love affair with wine. Winemaking in Thomas Schmidheiny's family goes back to his grandparents in Switzerland and, just as Napa had inspired his mother Adda in the 1970s, so too did the Agrelo sub-appellation in Mendoza capture the heart and mind of Thomas when traveling over the Andes into Argentina 20 years later. In Agrelo, perhaps now considered the source of Argentina's finest red wines, Thomas instinctively knew that he had found the place to continue the family legacy and to handcraft wines whose allure would lie in being true to their origin. Once a desolate piece of land in the foothills of the Andes, absent of everything but shrubs, Finca Decero is now a one-of-a-kind vineyard where each vine is nurtured by hand and the winemaking is without compromise.

The estate has followed an 'amano,' or 'by hand,' approach that is sensitive to natural differences, sustainable, and human. Their philosophy is to tread lightly in an environment they have come to know intimately, almost inch-by-inch, and allow the unique natural attributes of the Remolinos vineyard and of Agrelo shine to through in the wines. The vineyard at the estate is named "Remolinos" after the tiny whirlwinds in the area that thread their way along the vines, keeping the grapes dry and in perfect condition. The 110 hectare estate was planted in 2000 to Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot (unusual for Argentine producers) and Tannat. All the Decero wines come from this single vineyard, all from hand-picked fruit.

Winemaker's Notes:

Dark violet in color. Floral notes and spice on the nose with intense blackberry aromas lead to exceptional levels of concentrated fruit and complexity with flavors of cassis, ripe red cherries, hints of black pepper, mocha and persistent vanilla. Smooth, round tannins highlight the creamy texture and lengthy finish.

Blend: 91% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Bonarda

About High Note:

The grapes for High Note are sourced from four vineyards with sandy loam soils, ranging in elevation from 3,700 feet to 5,000 feet above sea level. Vistaflores vineyard has flavors of spices, red fruits, and minerality. La Consulta vineyard adds black fruit and mid-palate weight, while Altamira vineyard's fruit has notes of violets. The Gualtallary vineyard, at the highest altitude, brings deep purple color, additional floral and black fruit notes balanced with acidity. High Note's varietal blend is 83% Malbec, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The Cabernet Sauvignon from the Gualtallary region balances the wine's tannic structure and gives a hint of spice in the nose. The Cabernet Franc from the Altamira region adds sweet spice notes, and the Petit Verdot provides aromas of red currants and berries.

Winemaker's Notes:

Meiomi (May-oh-mee) is a Pinot Noir that gets its fruit from the most noteworthy coastal areas in California. The wine is crafted, lush, balanced and luxurious. Three of the California's most sought after coastal growing regions brilliantly meld together in this deeply flavored, stylish and truly balanced Pinot Noir; at its most fundamental core, it is an approachable, food friendly wine with a style and place all its own.

The name Meiomi means "coast" in the language of the native, coastal dwelling Wappo and Yuki tribes, and best pays tribute to and symbolizes the origin of this Pinot Noir. Meiomi is a high style Pinot Noir that is shaped, more than anything else, by the fruit sources that lay the foundation of the blend. A pure bred enjoyment wine, built to accommodate any pairing from food to friends.
