Winemaker's Notes:

This wine opens with a fragrant, fruit forward bouquet of classic black cherry and boysenberry aromas with feint hints of dill from its time spent on American oak. This elegant wine leads with blackberry and black currant avors complemented by notes of dark chocolate, cassis and warm baking spice. This beautifully balanced wine is medium to full body with round supple tannins. It's a deliciously smooth Cabernet Sauvignon in the classic Napa Valley tradition.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Aquinas:

About Aquinas:

Aquinaswines are named for St. Thomas Aquinas, the seminal 13th century Italian priest, theologian and philosopher who dedicated his life to reconciling reason and faith. Just as he challenged the assumptions of his world, we are challenging the assumptions within ours.

Aquinas wines are born from our belief that sophisticated, luxurious wines from pre-eminent appellations should be within the reach of all. We meticulously scour Napa Valley, leveraging generations of deep relationships to find the perfect fruit. Then, we pull upon decades of award-winning winemaking—itself an inherent blend of science and mysticism—to create wines that transcend their temporal origins.

Despite their accessibility, or perhaps because of it, Aquinas wines have been well-received by critics across the country. A string of gold and silver medals has served to further underscore the faith we hold in our founding convictions.

Winemaker's Notes:

94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot.

Forward black cherry and black currant fruit aromas are wrapped in notes of chocolate, cedar and hints Herbes de Provence. The concentrated black fruit, chocolate and savory flavors are accented by anise and black pepper that spice up the finish. These intense yet elegant flavors are supported by young, yet approachable tannins, and ample acidity, providing for a lengthy finish.

The elegant and full-bodied flavors of this wine make it an ideal accompaniment to game, lamb, beef and pork dishes.

Additional wines from Valley of the Moon Winery:

About Valley of the Moon Winery:

Valley of the Moon Winery encompasses both the rich history and the innovative spirit of California wine.

Situated in the Sonoma Valley on land first planted to grapes in 1863, Valley of the Moon Winery is housed in a beautifully restored stone and redwood winery built in 1887. Blessed with rich volcanic soils and a distinctive “banana belt” microclimate, the estate vineyard has been a revered source of grapes for well over a century. A block of “old vine” Zinfandel planted in the 1940s is complemented by more recent plantings of Barbera, Sangiovese and Petite Sirah; all farmed sustainably with natural soil amendments and natural pest controls.

Yet Valley of the Moon Winery is a thoroughly modern - even cutting-edge - producer. The state-of-the-art production facility features a full complement of temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters, and small French and American oak barrels; ideal for Valley of the Moon’s artisan winemaking. In addition to making superb Sonoma County Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir, Valley of the Moon Winery is a leader among California wineries in the production of several exciting up-and-coming wines: Syrah, Sangiovese, Pinot Blanc, Rosato di Sangiovese and Cuvée de la Luna, a proprietary Bordeaux-inspired blend. Sometimes hard to find, Valley of the Moon wines are definitely worth the search.

Winemaker's Notes:

This unique and trailblazing marriage of two of our favorite white varietals was a happy blending trial accident that we deliberately refined over time. Multi-vintage. The Viognier gives a lift to the wine's fruit aromatics. Platinum gold color with concentrated aromas of honeysuckle and stone fruit. Nectarine flavors with citrus highlights, a hint of butterscotch, and candied fruit accent the palate of this mouthcoating wine.

This medium-bodied, approachable wine compliments salads, Chinese food, seafood, shellfish, and chicken dishes. Perfect for every occassion.

Blend: 86% Napa Sauvignon Blanc, 14% Sonoma Viognier, 100% Unique

My Notes:

About White Wedding:

Bravium translates from Latin as "reward, prize, or gift" and sums up Proprietor and Winemaker Derek Rohlffs’ feelings about wine – namely that it is a reward for their labors, a prized part of mealtime, and a gift to be shared. Derek's winemaking philosophy is an extension of his Environmental Studies background and belief that great wine begins in the vineyard. Bravium utilizes minimalist winemaking practices and its wines are balanced and food-friendly. One of Derek's music heroes, Jack White, has said: "Technology is the disease you have to fight in any creative field…ease of use [is the enemy]." And while winemaking is part art and part science, Bravium emphasizes traditional methods whenever possible. Bravium was created to give back to charitable organizations by way of its Sip&Give donation platform.

Deep garnet color and dark cherry and smokey oak aromas. The floral spice notes weave seamlessly around a core of chocolate and blackberry jam flavors. In this wine, the Markham Vineyards' Merlot provided velvety texture with distinct chocolate notes. The Cabernet Sauvignon provided the deep, smokey notes that weave throughout. The Petit Verdot is all about structure, while the Petite Sirah adds blackberry jam and floral spice you can't help but love!

Additional wines from Markham Vineyards:

About Markham Vineyards:

In 1972, Bruce Markham arrived in Napa Valley with the dream of starting a winery. Intent on crafting world-class wines for years to come, he purchased the "little jewels" that are still the Markham vineyards today. He was a pioneer in what is now the very heart of Napa, buying premium vineyard land before many understood the tremendous potential the valley offered for producing fine wines. He also purchased a winery. Originally established by Jean Laurent, the Markham winery dates back to 1879. As one of the founders of Napa winemaking and viticulture, Markham Vineyards takes great pride in its legacy of exceptional mountains and magnificent vineyards, Markham's winery has the distinction of being the fourth oldest continuously operated winery in Napa County.

Today, Markham Vineyards owns 350 acres of vineyards strategically located in several of Napa Valley's best growing regions. From its Calistoga vineyards in the north to Oak knoll in the south, Markham has the luxury of hand-selecting grapes from several diverse microclimates to achieve its balanced and rich wines. Winemaker Kimberlee Nicholls sums up the benefits offered by this extraordinary palette of vineyards: "The expressions of terroir from each unique location create a greater whole; each vineyard complements and elevates the next. The result is endless blending options to weave together the rich fruit flavors, elegant acid structure, broad texture and velvety tannins we want in our wines."

Cantine Torresella produces six 100% varietal wines. There are two white wines, Pinot Grigio and Riesling, two red wines, Pinot Noir and Nero d’Avola, and two sparkling wines, Prosecco and Frizzante. About Caricature:

For five generations the Lange family has been growing sustainable winegrapes in the Lodi Appellation and in 2006 they opened a winery to showcase their passion for growing winegrapes – because great wine starts in the vineyard.

Building on their successes as a vineyard management company, the winery was their first step into crafting wines made solely from their estate vineyards. Since opening in 2006, they have continued to expand our state-of-the-art winery to keep up with the demand for LangeTwins wines as well as private labels and custom winemaking services. Although we have the latest winemaking technology at their fingertips, LangeTwins never loses sight of the fact that only great wine can be made from great winegrapes.

For nearly three decades, the family has proudly practiced the art of sustainable winegrowing. Unlike other farming practices, sustainable winegrowing is all encompassing in its approach. LangeTwins is not only concerned with the health of the vineyard but its surrounding natural environment as well. It is the balance of environmental health, economic profitability and social equity. From vineyard management to marketing, they are committed to improving environmental practices. Ultimately, each element plays a vital role in the integrity and quality of LangeTwins wine.
