Winemaker's Notes:

The fruit for the 2007 Dancing Bull Zinfandel is sourced from multiple diverse appellations in an effort to blend warm and cool climate fruit into a layered, yet approachable Zinfandel. The cooler climate of the North Coast adds contrast to the blend, balancing the intense ripeness of the fruit sourced from Lodi. Lodi offers the ideal climate for producing ripe, full flavored Zinfandels, which benefit from the distinctive Bay and Delta breezes that cool the region's afternoons. This climate creates ripe, forward fruit and soft tannins.

Menage a Trois Red Blend 2008
Menage a Trois Red Blend 2008
(search item no. 99957)

PRICE ON 8/22/2014: $15.79

Winemaker's Notes:

Ménage à Trois red brings together three strange bedfellows: Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. To add complexity and retain character, each variety was fermented separately, then blended together prior to bottling. On top we've got Zinfandel, a saucy tease that brings blackberry and raspberry jam to the relationship. Merlot, with its generous mouth feel and red fruits, fits perfectly in the middle. The rich flavors and firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon make it the ideal candidate for the bottom layer of the trio.

Our 2008 Ménage à Trois exposes the fresh, ripe, jam like fruit that is the calling card of California wine. Forward, silky and soft, this delicious dalliance makes the perfect accompaniment for grilled meats or chicken.

About Menage a Trois:

Given the choice, would you rather be a party of one…or a Ménage à Trois? In a blended wine, the different varietals each bring something to the table, making for a more complex, delicious wine. As a master chef uses different ingredients to achieve the perfect recipe, a winemaker skillfully selects and blends different grape varieties to create harmonious and intriguing wines. With each of our playful blends of three, there's no doubt that the whole is greater (and more fun) than the sum of its parts.

Concannon Selected Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Concannon Selected Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
(search item no. 99584)

PRICE ON 8/22/2014: $11.49

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Selected Vineyards is a well-balanced wine. It exhibits a rich nose of cherry and plum fruit flavors, with hints of chocolate and vanilla oak. The flavorful palate shows rhubarb, pomegranate and more oak flavor overtones. The full finish has hints of sweet tobacco.

Pair with tri-tip of beef or rosemary-rubbed filet mignon.

About Concannon:

A historic and once-famous Livermore winery, Concannon was bought and sold several times in the 1980's by large conglomerates that were purchasing each other. Each sale resulted in a loss of focus, and the brand suffered. In 1992 Eric Wente of Wente Vineyards saved it from the jaws of destruction by assembling a group of eight investors to buy the winery. However, Concannon Vineyard is a totally separate company in both ownership and operation from Wente Vineyards.

Nestled amidst the vineyards and rolling hills along the Livermore Valley, Concannon has been widely recognized for crafting full-flavored, complex and award-winning wines. Ocean air pours through the Golden Gate each afternoon cooling the influence of the sun, and enabling the grapes to develop both the ripe sugars and firm acids that fine wine demands.

Concannon is perfectly positioned geologically, atop a 600-foot-deep bed of gravelly soil. These rocks require the vines to drive their roots deep into mineral-rich deposits, and it also keeps the grape and cluster size in moderation.

More than 140 of Concannon's 200 Livermore estate acres are Petite Sirah plantings grafted onto improved rootstocks. Over the decades, they have carefully tuned their planting and trellising to take full advantage of the unique terroir. The result: intensely flavored, memorable wines vintage after vintage.
