Winemaker's Notes:

Yellow-gold. Leesy lemon, quince and pear aromas are brightened by dusty minerality and white flowers. Broad and smoky on the palate, offering sweet orchard fruit and fresh butter qualities along with anise and baking spices. Becomes nervier on the long, sappy finish.
My Notes:

About Vega Sindoa:

Although the Valley of Valdizarbe has always been considered one of the best areas of production in Navarra and viticulture there is centuries-old, it almost disappeared due to the depressed prices of grapes and extreme weather conditions. This winery is one of the first to bring the vineyards back to the valley by the hands of an energetic winemaker, Concha Vecino, and an innovative vineyard manager, Jose Manuel Urricelqui.

Winemaker's Notes:

ChocoVine is a fine French Cabernet subtly combined with a rich dark chocolate from Holland, paired together to create a decadent, silky smooth drink. It can be served on the rocks or as the main ingredient to an array of sinful cocktails.
My Notes:

About ChocoVine:

ChocoVine is blended in Holland by one of the oldest and most respected cream manufactures in the world. Chocolate and wine can be paired in a way that features the best and the most interesting aspect of each flavor profile. But they are also both incredibly complex and pairing them has always been a daunting process, often leading to dreadful results. After years of research, however the perfect union on wine and chocolate is not only a reality but the outcome is a true match made in heaven! With ChocoVine, the two concepts are blended to perfection to create pure bliss. ChocoVine is gluten free.

Winemaker's Notes:

The remarkable color of this wine cannot be ignored. It is brilliantly clear straw with glimmers of gold throughout. The nose is similarly expressive, with tropical notes of guava, pineapple, bright nectarine, peach, green apple, and citrus delicately spiced with toasty oak. Lifted aromatics of orange blossoms and a hint of smoke add a savory character. It all comes together on the palate with well-defined, supremely balanced and forward flavors of tangerine, peach, and green apple that are lifted by a light toasted and warm oak character that reveals itself as sweet vanilla, hazelnut, nutmeg, and smoky bacon. This wine is perfectly balanced with a delicate, lightly floral finish. We suggest you show off this 2010 Chardonnay by serving it with clam linguine, a classic wedge salad, or Florida stone crab claws.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Simi:

About Simi:

In 1876, brothers Giuseppe and Pietro Simi began making wine in San Francisco from Sonoma County grapes and eventually planted vineyards near Healdsburg. Simi's historic stone cellars were built in 1890 and are still used to age the wines. Today, Simi is recognized as a leader in innovation and experimentation with a history of over 125 years of cutting-edge winemaking.

Their Alexander Valley vineyards possess some of the most diverse soils of any wine-growing region. Years of geologic activity – from an ancient mudflow to the meandering Russian River and Mayacama Creek – has created numerous distinct soil types and a range of microclimates. Here they grow the red Bordeaux varietals for their Reserve Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc as well as Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon for their Sendal.

Their Russian River Goldfields vineyard is planted to field selections chosen from the oldest and best Chardonnay vineyards in California. The combination of diverse clones and the cool, Russian River Valley climate produce Simi’s distinct Reserve Chardonnay.

Simi's winemakers focus on site-specific winemaking and use the most modern advances in vineyard management, fermentation and blending to best express the personality and flavors of each vineyard site.

A dense yet supple, harmonious wine palate. Lovely plush tannins, rounded texture with bright plummy, cherry fruit flavors and a clean finish with hallmark spicy lingering flavors.
My Notes:

Jammy and briary berry aromas are accented with vanilla, cumin and baking spices. Ripe, rich blackberry jam with notes of black currant on the palate; complimented by cocoa, roasted coffee and black pepper spice notes. Soft tannins, balanced acidity and light toasty oak frame the finish.

This versatile Zinfandel is especially suited to Mediterranean and spicy ethnic dishes as well as barbecued meats and hearty pastas.

My Notes:

Additional wines from Valley of the Moon Winery:

About Valley of the Moon Winery:

Valley of the Moon Winery encompasses both the rich history and the innovative spirit of California wine.

Situated in the Sonoma Valley on land first planted to grapes in 1863, Valley of the Moon Winery is housed in a beautifully restored stone and redwood winery built in 1887. Blessed with rich volcanic soils and a distinctive “banana belt” microclimate, the estate vineyard has been a revered source of grapes for well over a century. A block of “old vine” Zinfandel planted in the 1940s is complemented by more recent plantings of Barbera, Sangiovese and Petite Sirah; all farmed sustainably with natural soil amendments and natural pest controls.

Yet Valley of the Moon Winery is a thoroughly modern - even cutting-edge - producer. The state-of-the-art production facility features a full complement of temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters, and small French and American oak barrels; ideal for Valley of the Moon’s artisan winemaking. In addition to making superb Sonoma County Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir, Valley of the Moon Winery is a leader among California wineries in the production of several exciting up-and-coming wines: Syrah, Sangiovese, Pinot Blanc, Rosato di Sangiovese and Cuvée de la Luna, a proprietary Bordeaux-inspired blend. Sometimes hard to find, Valley of the Moon wines are definitely worth the search.

Winemaker's Notes:

This full-bodied and fruity wine comes from vines grown high on the slopes of Mont Ventoux, one of the best vineyards in the Rhone Valley.

This blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault grapes has produced a typical Rhone Valley style; full of fruit and spice aromas, it has soft tannins and good body.

Serve at 62F to accompany most foods or to be drunk on its own, this is a delicious wine for easy drinking.

My Notes:

Additional wines from La Vieille Ferme:

About La Vieille Ferme:

Jean Pierre Perrin established La Vieille Ferme over 35 years ago, when he chose to produce an inexpensive, straightforward Rhône wine to sell by direct mail to French wine lovers. He used the same grape varieties in similar proportions to those planted at the family's Château de Beaucastel, in a similar vinification process. The result was an immediate success in France, a wine of character and style in keeping with its Beaucastel heritage.

Initially, Jean Pierre made only Côtes du Rhône, but steeply rising grape prices in 1976 caused him to switch to Côtes du Ventoux and eventually to produce a white wine from the mountainous Côtes du Luberon. La Vieille Ferme was introduced to the United States in 1970. The response was an immediate, overwhelming acceptance and an outpouring of critical acclaim from eminently knowledgeable critics who recognized La Vieille Ferme for its consistently fine quality and value.

My Notes:

Additional wines from Columbia Winery:

About Columbia Winery:

Columbia Winery was the first premium winery in Washington and the first in the state to produce vineyard-designate wines. Columbia Winery was founded in 1962 by ten friends, six of whom were University of Washington professors. Originally known as Associated Vintners, the group was united in the belief that vines could survive the harsh Washington winters and that fine wine could be made in Washington state.

Having worked alongside founding winemaker and Master of Wine, David Lake, Kerry Norton now oversees the Columbia Winery winemaking, handcrafting Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah sourced from the Columbia and Yakima Valleys.

Pale yellow color with green hues, very bright and clean. Aromas are fresh with citrus hints. There is the presence of pears, lime and some tropical touches with a greenish finish thanks to the presence of green apple. An elegant wine due to the intensity and balanced acidity. The citric characteristics from the coastal areas of the Central Valley stand out. It is fresh from the beginning to the end, where the balance of fruit and acidity refresh the palate.
