Winemaker's Notes:

This wine has deep, dark red/black hues, lifted aromas of mulberry, raspberry, coffee and kirsch. The bramble, chocolate, methol and rosemary fl avours that fi ll the mouth are present in abundance, with delicate, sensual and ripe tannins playing a structural role. This wine is ideally suited to good food, good friends and good conversation.

About Jim Barry:

From the heart of South Australia, Jim Barry was a legendary and beloved Clare Valley identity. Since 1959, Jim Barry Wines reflect the Barry family's commitment to making table wines with an emphasis on quality and enjoyment. Jim Barry's philosophy of winemaking was very simple: own the vineyards to develop the best fruit flavors possible and retain these flavors during winemaking. The rich, full-bodied Jim Barry wines distinctly embody this simple winemaking philosophy.

Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Viognier.

The intense aroma is young and forthright, offering a floral mix of peach stone, jasmine and dark maraschino cherries complexed by star anise, white pepper, black olives and fragrant garden herbs. The palate is full flavored, with beets, blueberries and red cherries and lovely cedary notes that compliment the black tea tannins and edgy mineral acidity.

Additional wines from d'Arenberg:

About d'Arenberg:

One of the undisputed kings of Australian Shiraz and Rhone varietals, d'Arenberg has managed to turn individuality into an art form by doing a whole lot of little things differently. The original vineyards were established by Joseph Osborn in 1912 in the McLaren Vale region of South Australia. A century on, the estate has grown to 345 acres, and the mantle now rests with fourth-generation winemaker, Chester Osborn. By maintaining a focus on traditional winemaking and nurturing their old-vine material, the Osborn clan has successfully established themselves as one of the country's leading producers of concentrated wines that are full of character.
