The evolving seriousness of Terrasses eventually left room for a new wine, as Alvaro had never wanted to be known solely for expensive "trophy"" wines, and with Camins, he found the opportunity to create something special. Drawing on his wealth of vineyard sources, Alvaro is aiming to produce a wine that is affordably priced, but which also stays true to his vision of Priorat - powerful but elegant, approachable but restrained.

At present, the Gil Vera family, Juan Gil Lencina's great-grandchildren, are the owners of Bodegas Juan Gil. They decided to start a new cellar on the property that the family owns in Jumilla, in order to get it adapted to the market. This new cellar is situated in "Término de Arriba" in the northwest of the city. It is so called because it is the highest point in Jumilla. It has been a winegrowing area for centuries and yields grapes of extraordinary quality.

We recommend this wine by itself as an aperitif or paired with a summer dish such as Thai smoked salmon, or grilled asparagus served with a sauce maltaise (a hollandaise made with blanched orange zest and blood orange).

The Tilia wines are made at Bodegas Esmeralda, a Catena family winery in the Eastern region of Mendoza that is dedicated to making value wines for the Argentine domestic market. Tilia wines offer a unique combination of fruit sourced from the traditional Eastern region and the dynamic Southern region of Mendoza. The Eastern region of Mendoza enjoys warm, sunny days and cool desert nights. The grapes have very ripe, rich fruit flavors and excellent mid-palate depth and concentration. Bright sunshine and low temperatures of the Southern region lend a cool freshness. The fruit from this area shows clean acid balance and soft, supple tannins.

Tilia is dedicated to responsible use of the environment. The winemaking and viticultural team actively engage in many practices and programs throughout the community to implement sustainability. Water conservation and reuse, minimal use of pesticides and organic fertilization are several examples of the team’s dedication. Furthermore, the entire Tilia viticultural team attends regular sustainability training sessions at the National University of Cuyo and National Agricultural Research Institute. They take this training into the field to share and implement with their grower partners.

The color is pale straw with golden highlights. The nose finds fresh pear and honeydew melon with flavors of mandarin orange, lemon, kiwi, pear and spice. A round entry on the palate with nice balance between acidity and residual sugar. A clean, refreshing finish.
