Winemaker's Notes:

THIS GIRL ROCKS IT!

Aromatic, smooth, vibrant and tasty. Think tangerine, pineapple wet stone, key lime, clove, and nectarine. Now stop thinking and start drinking.....'CAUSE KUNG FU GIRL KICKS ASS!

We love Riesling from Evergreen Vineyard in The Ancient Lakes area of Columbia Valley AVA.

About Charles Smith:

First there was K Vintners, then the Magnificent Wine Company and now winemaker Charles Smith brings you his latest revelation. Charles Smith Wines: The Modernist Project is a response to how people generally consume wine today, that is immediately…as in immediately after being purchased at a market, restaurant or bar, to be drunk straight away. Wine in this category is typically either simple, or is a wine that would be much better a few years down the road. 'Modernist Project' wines are about putting as much into the bottle as possible. The intent is to create wines to be enjoyed now, but with typicity with regards to variety—that is merlot that tastes like merlot—and to the vineyard—wine that tastes like where it was grown. The wines are full of flavor, balanced, and true to their place of origin.

Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of the fruit from Roberts's Ürzig, Zeltingen, and Erden properties. Wonderful iron mineral details in the nose. On the palate, the wine exhibits a refreshing citrus component with pear and white peach fruit. Perhaps the juiciest QbA Robert has produced to date. Th e fruit is bright, focused and very crystalline in style.

Food affinity: Great to enjoy on its own, but also great with salads and spicy dishes or fusion cuisine.

My Notes:

About Robert Eymael-Monchhof:

The Mönchhof is one of the oldest Wine 'Estates at the Mosel. Pope Alexander III already confirmed the first Wine Estate possession of the abbey in the year 1177 in Uerzig. The monks of Himmerod built the wine-cellar at that time and in 1509 the estate you can admire today.

In 1804, after the secularization by Napoleon, our family could acquire the Wine Estate in Paris.

The vineyards are planting excluding along-root-genuine, partly hundred years old Riesling-Reben.

In order to use the advantages of the heat-storing slate soils and the Mosel resembling of the temperature out coined/shaped favorable small climate fully, it requires complex management the steep rock slopes. Thus the yield is limited consistently to favour of the quality.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Thomas Hyland Cabernet Sauvignon is a shining example of the benefits of multi-regional blending. Cabernet sauvignon from the southeast of South Australia, including Coonawarra, often features prominently, bringing perfume and generosity of flavour on the palate; while the addition of ripe, powerful McLaren Vale fruit and elegantly proportioned Cabernet enhance the overall style.

The classic varietal elements of ripe blackcurrant/cedar aromas and fine-grained tannins are also present, to produce a wine with a firm, yet supple structure, subtle oak character and rich depth.

While Penfolds Thomas Hyland Cabernet Sauvignon is made for relatively early drinking, the overall fruit concentration and firm tannin structure will allow the wine to cellar for the medium term.

About Castello Banfi:

In 1978 John and Harry Mariani, owners of the U.S. wine importer Banfi Vintners, established the award winning vineyard estate and winery Castello Banfi in the Brunello region of Tuscany. A constellation of single vineyards located on ideal sites cover about one third of the 7,100 acre (2,830 hectares) estate. The remaining land consists of bucolic meadows, olive and plum groves, and woodland. Central to the property is a medieval castle that functions as a hospitality center, hosting visitors at a full service restaurant, enoteca and museum dedicated to the history of glass and its relation to wine.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Greg Norman Estates 2007 Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is a vibrant crimson color with garnet red hues. On the nose, fine aromatic spice, cedar and cherry meld with bright red berry, mulberry and dark fruit cake aromas. This wine is medium bodied with a fine, linear and long savory edge. Dark mulberry and cherry fruit flavors show through the mid-palate, the long velvety tannins contribute to the wine's elegant structure and texture, adding distinction and length to the finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2009 vintage was particularly smooth from start to finish. Budbreak arrived on schedule in the spring, and we saw lower-than-average rainfall. Healthy flowering led to a very even set, with few heat spikes during the season. Timely veraison and cooler weather later in the season allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and spend additional time on the vine. Although the end of season was somewhat challenging due to earlier than usual rainfall, by all accounts, the 2009 wines show varietal integrity, depth and concentration.

This release shows vivid tropical aromas of pineapple, lemon zest and apricot. Bright acidity and lush citrus provide the backdrop for juicy tropical avors, while fresh, clean mineral notes punctuate the finish.

Additional wines from La Crema:

About La Crema:

Since 1979, La Crema Winery has been a pioneer in producing Burgundian varietals from the cool Sonoma coast. They handcraft their wine, one barrel at a time, at their family-owned estate located in the Russian River Valley. Balance, finesse and great fruit intensity come through in every glass of La Crema wine.

La Crema's location in the Russian River Valley is ideal for producing wines of uncompromising elegance and balance. To achieve this goal, several unique steps take place in getting fruit from the vineyards to the bottle. It begins in the vineyard, where careful canopy management and hand harvesting assure fully ripe, undamaged grapes are brought to the winery. At the winery, Winemaker Melissa Stackhouse uses artisan winemaking techniques to handcraft wines of distinctive flavor, elegance and balance.
