Produced with Sangiovese and a small amount of Malvasia Nera, Colorina and Merlot, it is characterized by a balance of elegance and complexity, which make this wine a magnificent example of "terroir".

Bouquet: Bright aromas of fresh cherries mingle with notes of thyme and subtle smoky nuances

Taste: Complex and elegant, with flavors of ripe red fruits and a pleasant acidity. Fine and well balanced, with a lengthy finish.

 Castello di Fonterutoli, source of some of Italy's most prestigious wines, is an historic property embracing an entire tranquil, centuries-old hamlet just south of Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico.  The 2006 seduces with its beautiful ruby color and purple highlights. Slightly spicy nose, with aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants. Supple and full mouth with silky tannins, black fruit flavors, and an elegant fruity finish. This is a harmonious and well-balanced wine that has the potential to age another 2-3 years.
