Winemaker's Notes:

The 2011 Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc embodies the quintessential Marlborough style – full-flavored and medium-bodied with fragrant notes of peach, gooseberry and ripe tropical fruit, followed by freshly cut herb undertones. Showcasing a brilliant straw color, this elegant wine refreshes the palate with a long, clean finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

It's the long cool seasons in the South Island that allows our sauvignon blanc grapes to mature slowly, giving the wine levels of complexity and a vibrant zing. This Sauvignon Blanc is reminiscent of a lemon chiffon cupcake. It's made up of integrated flavors of Meyer lemons, Key limes and a finish that awakens the appetite There are hints of grapefruit, gooseberry and citrus, and comes together with a long, creamy finish.

Serve chilled with oysters on a half shell or with a rich and succulent lobster risotto.

Pale lemon with green tints, the wine has a floral aroma with distinctive lime notes. The refreshing lime flavors carry through on the palate which has a zesty freshness, a steely minerality and a strikingly clean finish. With careful cellaring, it will continue to develop and honey in the bottle for a further five to ten years.

Winemaker's Notes:

Clear, crystalline medium rose-salmon color. Aromas of vine-ripened strawberries and green apples, with background notes of sweet oak. On the palate, abundant flavors of cranberry, pomegranate and crisp Fuji apples. Through the finish, the wine opens to a more opulent array of crisp, tangy fruits. A long, red-fruit-driven finish completes this lighter expression of classic Pinot Noir. Best enjoyed well chilled.

This rosé has brilliant pale pink tones and intense fruit on the nose, with aromas of white peaches and exotic fruits. On the palate, it has a lively attack, with a nicely balanced mouthfeel as the fruit aromas noticed on the nose quickly follow through on the palate. The finish leaves a lovely impression of exotic softness. Domaniers Rosé will be a delicious companion to delicatessen meats, poultry, white meats, fish, Provençal and Asian dishes.

Winemaker's Notes:

This Eroica shows the crisp acidity of the cooler 2008 vintage. The wine exudes mandarin orange and sweet lime aromas and flavors with subtle mineral notes. The mouth-watering acidity is beautifully balanced by flavorful Washington Riesling fruit. After a decade we have truly found our 'Eroica style,' striving for beautiful bright fruit with crisp acidity and enhanced minerarilty.
My Notes:

Additional wines from Eroica:

About Eroica:

Launched in 1999, Eroica is a labor of love for two of the world's great Riesling producers. One from the Old World, Dr. Loosen estate of Germany, and the other from the New World, Chateau Ste. Michelle of Washington state. An intermingling of Old and New World philosophies and technique enables the crafting of an extraordinary Riesling from Washington state grapes. Named for Beethoven's Third Symphony, Eroica reflects not only its variety and site, but also its heritage: bold and forward from its Washington roots, elegant and refined from German inspiration.

The first five vintages of Eroica Riesling (1999-2003) were named to Wine Spectator's "Top 100" list.

"I have long believed that a Riesling revival would have to start with a prominent New World winery like Chateau Ste. Michelle."
- Ernst Loosen, Dr. Loosen estate

Winemaker's Notes:

Riesling was first planted in the shallow, rocky soils of the Eden Valley in the early 1850's. Time has revealed this place to be a natural home for Riesling which, to quote Peter Lehmann, is ‘the noblest white wine variety'. Our Eden Valley Rieslings have the unique distinction of being awarded the trophy for the Best Riesling in the World at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London 5 times – more than any winemaker in the world.

As young wines they show lovely floral aromatics and fresh, tangy crispness. Zesty, clean and refreshing wines that showcase the wonderful crisp mineral acidity typical of the finest Eden Valley Rieslings. As they mature, these flavours soften and honey with age. We believe Eden Valley Riesling to be one of Australia's most distinctive wine styles.
