Winemaker's Notes:

 With beautifully married flavors and tannins, our Oberon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a lovely, seamless texture. Malolactic fermentation in barrel, combined with 18 months oak aging, further concentrated the wine's vibrant red cherry, candied blackberry, licorice and spice flavors, adding a hint of cocoa powder and a lingering toffee note on the finish.

Winemaker's Notes:
DaVinci Chianti is a well-balanced wine of medium weight with jammy flavors of ripe plums, cherries and red fruit. It has a deep crimson color and is a lively wine with a soft mineral finish and round tannins that linger in long, peppery finish. This wine pairs perfectly with all starters, pastas and meat dishes and is best when served slightly below room temperature.

About Beckmen Vineyards:

 The goal of Beckmen Vineyards is to become the most prominent family owned vineyard estate in Santa Barbara County. Rhone style wines cultivated from Purisima Mountain Vineyard will be their contribution to the next chapter of winegrowing in the Santa Ynez Valley. To appreciate this goal is to be able to understand the history of the Santa Barbara Wine country and the pioneering spirit of Tom Beckmen and his family.

In 1996 Beckmen Estate Vineyards purchased Purisima Mountain Vineyard a 365-acre Estate overlooking the Santa Ynez Valley, where there are ideal soils and climate for Rhone varieties. They began planting in 1997 and have completed a total of 130 acres at this time. The high density plantings are designed to optimize different hillside exposures and elevations.

 The vineyards of this 46 acre estate are found in a natural amphitheater in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region. The story of Castellare is the story of Paolo Panerai, who entered the world of winemaking at age 37 after a career in Italian journalism. Panerai feels it is important to understand and respect the experience of the world's best wineries and to apply this understanding to viticulture in Italy. He has great respect for technology from other winemaking regions and chooses to utilize this technology to move forward while rediscovering and reshaping some of the great traditions of Tuscany.

The birds on Castellare's labels symbolize Panerai's commitment to environmentally sound cultivation. Herbicides are not used, nor are any systemic pesticides. Chemical treatment of any kind is shunned. Hunting is also prohibited on the property. As a result of these practices, the property has become a virtual refuge for wildlife, including many of the birds pictured on the labels.

Warm, rich, and mouthfilling, with excellent palate weight. Generous flavors of ripe blackberries, cherries, and plums overlay a firm but silky smooth tannin structure, with earthy, cigar box and subtle toasty oak characters providing complex secondary flavors. The finish, long and persistent, is enhanced by appealing hints of spice.

Pair with New Zealand lamb rump with herb and lemon zest crust, sweet potato, and wilted spinach.

 This wine's blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot contributes to its unique flavor. Deep in color, this wine is rich with aromas of dense purple fruits, brambly, blueberry and boysenberry, with notes of leather, tobacco, dark chocolate and cedar.
