Winemaker's Notes:

Deep red with inky hues, this medium bodied wine is bursting with aromas of spicy black pepper with apricot notes. On the palate the wine shows soft warm characters and fnishes with rich fruit flavours.

The grapes for this wine were sourced from Angove's own Nanya vineyard and from premium growers in the Murray Valley (Riverland Region) of South Australia, 150 miles northeast of Adelaide.

About Angove Family Winemakers:

The Angove family company, Angove's Pty. Ltd., ranks among Australia's largest privately owned wine companies and stands as one of the few with strong interests in distilling as well as grape growing and winemaking.

His early experimentation with vines, winemaking and distilling, led to the establishment of a proud family business. Dr. Angove's initial plantings at the township of Tea Tree Gully in the Adelaide foothills were the forerunner of one of the largest vineyards in the southern hemisphere - the magnificent Nanya Vineyard at Renmark in South Australia's Murray Valley.

Since World War II, the company has steadily expanded its operations and structure. Their Renmark facility has grown to become a major winemaking and distilling enterprise, with storage capacity for more than15 million litres of wine and spirit. In 1947, Thomas William Carlyon Angove, grandson of the founder, took the helm as Managing Director, beginning a new era in development.

In 1983, the fourth generation of the family took control, when John Carlyon Angove succeeded his father as Managing Director of the company.

The success of the Angove's identity owes a great deal to a pioneering spirit. The same urge that drove Dr. Angove to leave his home in Cornwall and emigrate to Australia is evident in many of the developments the company has taken since.

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2009 Russian River Chardonnay displays abundant floral/stone fruit aromas lightly accented by toasty, graham cracker sur-lie qualities. The mouthfeel is creamy and full but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries this velvet textured package to a long, clean finish.

About Buehler Vineyards:

John Buehler, Sr. and his son, John, began the renovation of the property that would become Buehler Vineyards in 1971. Located six miles east of St. Helena and nestled in the mountains above Conn Valley, Buehler Vineyards encompasses some 300 acres of Napa Valley hillside terrain. The wine is pale straw in color with green highlights. Aromas of ripe gooseberry and capsicum dominate with tropical melon and grapefruit notes apparent. This wine displays full fruit intensity. The ripe capsicum and gooseberry flavors with hints of pungency sit well with the supporting tropical fruit flavors. A well-balanced wine showing the crisp, vivacious acidity associated with this style.

An almost clear light straw yellow in color. Yellow apple and pear fruit on the nose with faint nuances of lentils, asparagus, and tobacco. A straight-line Gruner with grapefruit and white pepper spice on a light-to-medium bodied frame with lively acidity.

There is no wine more versatile at the table! Pronounced peppery flavour and racy structure offer plenty of pleasant refreshment.

Additional wines from Domane Wachau:

About Domane Wachau:

2005 brought a new, young, enthusiastic team to this historic property on the banks of the Danube river. Headed by general manager Roman Horvath and enologist Heinz Frischengruber, this team brings fresh ideas, personality and a new energy to the historic cooperative formerly known as Freie Weingartner Wachau. This dynamic duo produces wines which showcase the fruit character and mineral finesse provided by the Wachau valley's unique diversity. Domäne Wachau is the largest cooperative in the Wachau valley, and is made up of 600 contributing members farming slightly less than 500 hectares, or a full one third of the total region's vineyards. Each individual member is challenged to produce the best wines possible, and paid for the quality of their production first, the quantity second. The showplace of the winery is the baroque cellar palace depicted on the label.

Winemaker's Notes:

Our 2009 shows aromas of lemon meringue, ripe pears and the amazing minerality of the first rain on stones. Barrel aging contributes a brown sugar component on the nose. Our medium-bodied wine enjoys flavors of honeydew melon, lemon curd, and a cream layer reminiscent of a 50/50 ice cream bar.

Pair this Chardonnay with seafood enchiladas in a white sauce, Chinese chicken salad, pizza bianca or apple pie a la mode. Or come up with your own favorite pairing. If it's steak and Chardonnay you crave, then that's perfect too.

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes for our 2009 Chardonnay are a balance of coastal and delta fruit. The growing season allowed the Chardonnay grapes to enjoy a "hang time" on the vine, which developed the grapes' full, rich flavors and complexities.

Our Chardonnay displays the tropical flavors and great acidity typical of our California vineyards. There's a slight spice on the silky smooth finish. The flavors are ripe with lemon, lime, apple and tropical fruits. Rich and well structured, this is one of our classiest Chardonnays to date.

About Montevina Winery:

In the 1850's, Italian immigrants flocked to California's Sierra Nevada to prospect for gold. After the mines ran dry, many of these wine-loving fortune seekers became grape growers and vintners. In 1990, Montevina, the Sierra's flagship winery, began cultivating classic Italian grape varieties along with its hearalded Zinfandel in its 260-acre, organically farmed Amador County estate vineyards.
