Veronique and Tony Ballu studied viticulture and oenology at the Ecole de la Tour Blanche in Gironde. Beginning in 1991, Tony was the manager of the Chateau Clos-Fourtet First Grand Cru Classe of Saint-Emilion. In 1999 Veronique and Tony wanted to create their own farm, so they bought a plot of one hectare of vines in the Saint-Emilion appellation.

The former owner of the vineyard had not harvested his crop at the Cave de Saint-Emilion and had not produced any bottles from this parcel, therefore there was no name for the Chateau. This was the birth of Chateau Pierre de Lune!

Chateau Pierre de Lune made a very noticeable entry in the small world of Saint-Emilion obtaining very good press their first year. The wine is marketed to the trade and directly to consumers.
