The Hacienda Molleda estate is located in the municipality of Tosos (Zaragoza, SPAIN). It falls within the Designation of Origin of Cariñena, an official protected DO for a region with a wine-making tradition that dates back to the times of the Roman Empire. The fields of Hacienda Molleda cover 248 Ha, including vineyards, cereal fields, almond tree groves and sheep pastures. The typical varieties of grapes of the region are Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet and Cariñena (red) and Macabeo (white) and are grown in the 110 Ha of vineyards. Dryland farming is applied, and some of the vineyards are planted following the espalier system while others follow the traditional bush system. The estate is on a gently rolling landscape. The land is red and fertile, with soils varying between pebblestone and clay.
