It is not disputed that Rully makes the finest wines of the Cote Chalonnaise. This vineyard, Les Saint Jacques, is located at the bottom of the hill on the northern end of Rully, below one of the most reputed Premier Cru sites of the village, the "Clos St Jacques". The exposure is east. The soil is very rocky and shallow on top of the vineyard, and is deeper with substantial line formations at the bottom.
Les Saint Jacques produces a very fruity and forward wine with a touch of muscat typical of the terroir of Rully. It should be drunk within five to six years.
