King Estate Signature Collection Pinot Gris 2009

I just had this at dinner a couple of days ago, usually a great wine from a great winery, but this years pinot gris offering tasted like i just bit into a granny smith apple, and little else in the way of flavors was able to come through. slightly overly acidic, but had a clean finish. I don't know what they were thinking at W&S, but to me this vintage was no were near the quality of the 2008 or 2006. Still an OK wine I would haved said an 88 point year, maybe 87, sorry K.E.

Hartford Court Lands Edge Pinot Noir 2007

I served this baby up with a pot roat dinner made by my mother inlaw. The wine had a magnificent bouquet of cherry, chocolate, and hints of campfire. With lightly developed tanins, this is a medium bodied, and an incredibly smooth finishing vintage. I only wish I could have cellarded it for a few years, but it was well enjoyed.
