It may have been the bottle, but this wine was a huge surprise, and not in the good way. It had character, but a bitter aftertaste, and components that did not really come together. For the price, there are many other examples of this blend in California with better results.
What a surprise. Open early and let breathe for an hour or two as this Bordeaux style wine really opens up. A wonderful value for a 2010, and was sad to see, but not surprised that the 2010 had sold out.
This was a surprising value in inot noir from this generally-overpriced region. Not a thing like a French Burgogne, but then, I did not expect Burgundian chracter. Wonderfully fruity ovrtones and smooth as silk, a great value for this particular wine. We ordered more.
this is a lovely wine, and very good value to boot. Very smooth, and drinking very well now. Although we drink solo, this should be an excellent food wine as well.

Very disappointing considering what it is. We love Guigal, and relished the chance to get a few bottles of the Brune and Blonde. Having grown up with Parker in DC in the mid-70's, I do not always like his views, but do respect them. I do not know what he tasted what originally rated, but the wine now is not what it was. That said, the price is a good one for those who want to try an example of a Cote Rotie, although one not on the very top of its game.

Now this was a truly distinctive wine. You will love or hate it, with not much in between. We adore all Clarendon Hills and were thrilled to see this fairly arcane wine appear. Not that worried about the date, but make note of it, as it is drinking now and you should not hold. Nice aroma, but distinctive berry and vegetally (sp?) over and undertones. I loved, but only once. My wife not so much. Try a bottle.

Unexpected pleasure. Besin Frncophiles in the wine department, we just now are getting used to being on the West Coast, and enjoying the variety unavailable on the East. We had not heard of this wine, but absolutely loved it, and can highly recommend it. Smooth, but with enough tannic bite to make it interesting, it is very good value indeed.
Smooth & Supple
The 2005 was excellent, but has bottle variation. The first one we had had borderline brown tinges---a sure sign it had reached its peak and was close to sliding downhill----but the second had more life left in it, and was very good indeed. For the value, this is a wine to buy, but only for drinking over the next year, and only if you have a good refigerated container or cool baseement for storage.
