Rich & Creamy
This is the best white wine under $10 that I've ever had. Man, why didn't I buy more of this?! It had nice citrus notes without being overpowering, and the flavors were balanced with the right amount of acidity. The Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc were noticeable without being out of balance, and the Vernaccia brought a very unique flavor that was very nice. I will certainly seek this one out again. Oh, did I mentioned that it was only $9!? That's a bargain!
Big & Bold
Very nice wine, especially for the price I paid. I expected something heavier, but the body and fruit were quite enjoyable. It was rather tannic, however, so my other bottles will be allowed to age longer. It will be difficult to keeps my hands off of them, though.
Smooth & Supple
Very nice for the price. Dry with ample fruit flavor and long finish. We are big fans of Yalumba wines, and especially their Viognier.
Big & Bold
Tasted twice ~ Although still quite fruity it at least tasted like a Pinot Noir this time (vs. A Sirah last time). It had the Pinot nose that I can never get enough of. The additional year was kind to this wine, and I think it had another year or two left in it if one desired to wait. It did trail off slightly toward the end of the bottle, so I believe we opened it at the right time. Good stuff, but I'm still a bigger fan of the old-world style.
Big & Bold
It took me nearly an hour to drink the last glass because I had it up to my nose the whole time. I usually only do that with French Pinot, but this CA Cab had a beautiful nose of cherry, raspberry, spice, and hints of flowers. It tasted wonderful as well. It was still a bit tannic, but there was enough acidity to carry it through a few more years. It's great on its own now, but better with food over the next year or two. I enjoyed this bottle more than some more expensive Cabs that I've had recently.
I enjoyed this one. It seems to be popular lately, and I can see why. It's priced to be a middle of the week drinker.
This tasted like a far more expensive bottle. It started off almost sweet, but mellowed out nicely with air. We had it with steak and they went very well together.
I liked this one. It was dry and crisp, but with sweet notes at the same time. We had with four different cheeses and pate, and it paired nicely with all of them. This wine is very much worth the effort to seek out and try.
Ummm.... I always enjoy trying new wines, and I liked it , but I'm just not sure I would seek this out again. Soon after opening, the wine developed a strong cherry-flavored cough syrup taste. That subsided for the most part, but the flavor profile was still something new and unique for me. Again, it was good and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try something new.
Earthy & Spicy
This was such an interesting wine. Popped and poured and initially it was quite bold and spicy with the right balance and fruit and tannins. With air, the wine evolved in a way I had not experienced before. The body and spiced tamed a bit, but a while later the flavors became a bit bolder once again. My experience is that a wine typically mellows and remains that way, but this was something unique for me. I will buy this again, but allow it to sit for a few years, or at least decant it for a couple of hours if temptation gets the better of me.
